This American hop is developed by HBC, the Hop Breeding Company. It has an extraordinary flavor profile that is partly due to a complex lineage that includes the likes of Hallertau Mittelfrüh, Tettnang, Brewers Gold and East Kent Golding.
Aroma
Citra®, as the name implies, has a strong citrusy and tropical profile. These distinct and intens aromas come with a harsh and undesirable bitterness. Citra® is therefore best used in a late addition or dry hop capacity, where the flavours of tropical fruit, grapefruit and stonefruit flourish.
Alpha
The values represent the medium range of the past few years. Be aware that specific alpha values can vary in a broad range depending on the relevant crop year.
