Saazer Saaz hop
Originating from the Czech Republic. Named for the town of Žatec.
Saaz hops are also described as Czech Saaz, Saazer or Czech Saazer.
The noble hop Saaz has a soft, pleasantly spicy and herbal with vivid woodsy, earthy, and dark floral character. Saaz is indispensable for authentic Lagers and Pilsners, it possesses a mild but distinctively spicy, pungent quality that is equally at home in a great variety of other beer styles.
The noble character of Saaz is also found in the aroma hop Lublin (Lubelski). This Polish variety is a descendant of Saaz, as is the popular New Zealand Motueka.
