For production of the peated malt from Mälzerei Steinbach, peat from Germany is being used. They produce three different varieties in a range from mild peated – 10 ppm to heavily peated which reaches up to 45 ppm. For distilling, we now have Heavy Peated Distilling Malt 45 ppm in our product range.
This peat smoked malt with enzyme activity was obtained by malting (germination, intensively solved and kilned over fresh smoke of pure peat) 2-row summer malting barley. Creating a pleasent, intense and spicy aroma.
