Dingemans Organic Mroost 1400 MD malt, or de-bittered black, has been roasted in a roasting drum at high temperatures. When the malt reaches its desired colour, it’s quickly chilled. This Organic Mroost 1400 MD malt has a strong aroma of chocolate and cocoa nibs, and lends a dark colour to the finished beer.
Due to our unique production methods, the roasted malts of Dingemans are less astringent in flavour.
This roasted malt can be used for up to 5% of the grain bill.

Organic malts from Mouterij Dingemans are all produced from 100 % organic and NOP barley.
Standard production process Dingemans organic malts
- Fully separated production flow according to the latest organic standards;
- Fully steeped for 20 to 38 hours depending on barley variety and harvest year;
- Homogeneous and long germination for 5,5 days;
- Kilning and/or caramelisation or roasted.

Storage
The malt should be stored dry and on room temperature, on such a way that there can be no contamination from the surroundings and is protected from pests.
