Ella hop is a relatively new Australian-grown hop, developed in the state of Victoria in the early 2000’s. This hop is related to Galaxy® and Spalt.
Aroma
Depending on how it is utilized, the character of Ella can significantly change. The distinctly floral aromas of this variety are unrivalled, for instance a spicy, floral character like star anise or woody lavender. When used in greater quantities or in dry hopping, it holds its own with any robust malt and conveys a decided fruity flavor.
Alpha
The values represent the medium range of the past few years. Be aware that specific alpha values can vary in a broad range depending on the relevant crop year.
