Hüll Melon is bred at the Hop Research Institute in Hull – Germany, also known as Huell Melon. It is a daughter of Cascade and made its debut in 2012. This special flavor variety was bred in response to the growing demand from the craft beer industry and its desire for bold tastes and differentiating flavors. It has some interesting flavor characteristics not commonly associated with hop. As a result, this hop has become a popular variety for brewing hop forward beers, such as IPA’s and its numerous variations. It melds well with the yeast character of Hefeweizen and Belgian ales, but can also work as as standalone hop as a feature of a summer seasonal.
Aroma
Hüll Melon is true to its name and is therefore know for its unique but mellow fruit character with flavors and aromas of in particular honeydew melon and strawberry. His intensely fruity hop aroma is ofcourse depending upon the beer style, the amount of hops and the timing of the addition.

The values represent the medium range of the past few years. Be aware that specific alpha values can vary in a broad range depending on the relevant crop year.
